New Year, New Money

Happy New Year! I know I am a little late with that but I have taken some time off for relaxing and recharging. It has also been a time to reevaluate where I am and where I want to be. A lot of this has to do with money. What are you going to do differently with your money that will give you better results than you've been getting?
First you have to decide on the results you want and then what you need to do to get there. Like if one of the results you'd like to have is to pay your bills on time then you have to start with opening your mail every day and then deciding what day that bill needs to be paid on for it to be on time. You might want to get a calendar just for your bills, or a file folder for each day of the week and put the bill in that day or choose a day each week to go through your bills - my money day is Sunday; I go through all my mail and bills and get everything up to date. I also do my budget on Sunday.
And maybe a budget is one of the things you'd like to do for this year. Well, before you do a budget you have to know what you spend. What I suggest with my clients is they keep track of all the money they spend - every dollar - for one month and then we can look at it, figure out categories and put together a budget. These are just a few examples.
It takes time to change what you do with your money but if you dont start making the changes then your results will never change. If budgeting is something you'd like to work on, I have a great budget sheet in Excel that calculates for you as you go. Just send me an email that you'd like it and I'll get it right to you. Healthy Money Habits to you!
